Thank You for Your Generosity During GivingTuesday!

GivingTuesday gave our community a reason to come together and raise money for our Koi Pond Fund. Every dollar raised for the Koi Pond Fund goes directly to improving our students’ education.

On Tuesday, we raised $38,220.58, and we were able to unlock all three very generous challenge grant donations! This brought our total for the day to:

$100, 720.58!

THANK YOU for your commitment to our school!

Why Does Our Community Support the Koi Pond Fund?

"As a proud supporter of our school, I’m honored to contribute to the programs that make a real difference in the lives of our students. My donations help ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate in activities like soccer and other sports, fostering teamwork, discipline, and healthy habits. These programs not only allow our kids to stay active and engaged, but they also help them build confidence and friendships that last a lifetime. I believe in the power of sports to shape young minds and bodies, and I’m grateful to be part of a community that values and invests in these experiences. Thank you to everyone who contributes, making these opportunities possible for our children.”

“We support the Koi Pond Fund because we want to see the Design Tech community continue to grow and flourish. d.tech students benefit greatly from the balanced education delivered by engaged teachers and the creative thinking taking place in the design spaces, clubs, and sports. Supporting the school is critical; we are honored to see our donation help the students and teachers make the world a better place.”

“As a senior parent, I deeply appreciate the Koi Pond Fund for enabling our son to explore unique experiences that sparked his curiosity, built his confidence, and helped him discover new passions. I am grateful for the lasting impact these opportunities have had on him and how they support his journey as he heads off to college.”

-Michelle and Eric Techel

I donate to the Koi fund because I understand that the true cost of educating each student often exceeds what the school district can provide. The ACE (Actual Cost to Educate) concept highlights the gap between state and local funding and the resources needed to give D tech students a quality education. By contributing, I help ensure that D tech can hire the best teachers and also offer enriching programs, extracurriculars, and essential support that make a huge difference in our students' lives.

Design Tech High School is one of the lowest-funded public schools in San Mateo County. Every dollar raised for the Koi Pond Fund (via events like GivingTuesday) goes directly to improving and enriching our student’s education. The Koi Pond Fund allows d.tech to provide enrichment opportunities like clubs and sports, which would otherwise not be possible with state funding alone. Additionally, d.tech aims to make our teachers the highest-paid charter school educators in the Bay Area. Learn more about the Koi Pond Fund by clicking here.
